Launched in 2015 and managed by Catapult Ventures, the GM&C Life Sciences Fund is a £31 million seed and early-stage venture capital fund focused on life sciences businesses located in the Greater Manchester and Cheshire & Warrington region. The fund was established through a collaboration between Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership, Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Cheshire East Council, and Manchester Science Partnerships. By mid-2021, the fund had invested in 42 companies across various life science sectors, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, diagnostics, contract research organizations (CROs), healthcare technologies, and medical devices. The fund's new investment period concluded in mid-2021, but it continues to support its portfolio and carry out follow-on funding until at least 2030.
